Nitro Pdf Free Download For Linux

  1. Nitro PDF for Ubuntu 9.04

Hello everyone.I am new to the world of LINUX and UBUNTU.Last night I installed Ubuntu 9.04.The thing is that I need Linux version of Nitro PDF professional (for several features I like it very much).Ubuntu enables one to access PDF documents, but I need to mark them, edit them and attach to the document some other files which are done efficiently by Nitro PDF.I have used it in WINDOWS over last 2 years.

Can anyone tell me where and how to find the "Nitro PDF for UBUNTU"?I googled for it,but tha did not give useful results. Also,I have heard that the softwares are free for LINUX...Is it the same with Nitro PDF for Ubuntu (if available at all)?

    regards

As you might expect, the professional version of Nitro PDF is not free and there doesn't appear to be a Linux version anyway. While I can't make a specific recommendation, there are quite a few good, free Linux PDF tools out there but you'll have to research to see if they contain the special features/functions that you require.

If you still have you copy of Nitro PDF Professional for Windows you could always try running it under Wine. WineHQ.org may have instructions for installing and running this app under Wine.

There are indeed quite a few PDF tools out there, but I wouldn't go as far as calling them good. They work (most of the times) but they aren't pretty. I recommend you to try out pdfedit or xournal if you need to annote pdfs.

I didn't know Nitro, it's a very cool tool apparently. For the sake of help on the short term, if you need to create documents and convert them into PDF it is easily done with Open Office.
To convert PDF and edit PDFs you could use Cenon.
To add annotations on PDFs you have flpsed PDF Annotator, but haven't tried it myself.

But i am not sure this will be quite as satisfying as Nitro, we ought to have such program on Linux...

PDF Studio http://www.qoppa.com/pdfstudio/index.html is what you want if you must have the functions of Nitro.

Install Foxit under PlayonLinux, works like a charm.
